Hardware Options

Interactive kiosks can increase the impact of your message by reaching people at times you can’t be there - in places that are convenient to them. Our kiosks can be configured for both large and small spaces and are ideally suited for a variety of locations, including high-traffic public areas, corporate lobbies, academic buildings, waiting rooms, museums, visitor welcome centers and sports arenas.

We have trusted hardware partners for your ThinkTouch kiosk. The type of hardware you select will depend on the following factors:
  • Kiosk Location
  • Estimated Traffic
  • Overall Kiosk Goals
  • Budget
We will assist you every step of the way to deliver a turnkey kiosk solution with a warranty and maintenance package, if desired.

Hardware Platform Compatibility

Our kiosk software runs best on Windows-based systems (Windows 8.1 or 10).  The software can also be configured to run on iPad and Android tablets, with some limitations.  If you are interested in a non-Windows tablet solution, please contact us to discuss your project needs.

For best performance, we recommend that kiosk systems running the ThinkTouch kiosk player application meet the following specifications:
  • Operating System:  Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
  • Processor / RAM:  Intel Core i5 or better, at least 4GB of RAM
  • Screen Resolution:  1920x1080

Hardware Configurations

For the best user experience, we recommend that your kiosk system include a touch-screen interface.  Touch screen systems come in many shapes and sizes at a variety of price points; hardware costs will vary based on screen size and how "rugged" your kiosk needs to be.  Some of our most popular hardware configurations include:

All-in-one PC with integrated touch screen

This is the lowest cost solution with screen sizes ranging from 20” to 27”. The screen can be wall-mounted, affixed to a table or counter, or housed in a standalone kiosk enclosure.

Tablet computer

The highly portable tablet kiosk is ideal for travel and one-on-one demonstrations.  Screen sizes typically range from 10-12 inches.

Tablet computer connected to a large-screen TV

For maximum visual impact at a reasonable price, a tablet PC can be mounted to a wall or tabletop in a secure kiosk enclosure and connected to a large flat-screen television.   This solution works well for facilities that host large tour groups (such as museums and welcome centers) or need a budget-conscious solution that will attract visitors from a distance.  NOTE: The touch interface is performed on the tablet rather than the large screen.

Large Format Interactive Digital Signage (IDS)

For the ultimate combination of visual impact and user experience, the IDS solution includes a large (32” - 70”) touch screen display with integrated computer. These wall-mountable displays are commercial grade and generally more ruggedized for unmonitored public locations with higher levels of patron traffic.

Freestanding, Podium, or Custom-Built Kiosk Surround

For clients in search of a fully enclosed freestanding kiosk, there are a multitude of kiosk manufacturers who offer both indoor and outdoor kiosk units with custom branding, at every imaginable screen size.  We can help you compare, price, and identify the best solution and/or hardware partner for your needs and budget!

Multiple Options to Meet Your Needs

Each ThinkTouch kiosk client has a different objective and a new story to tell. Your kiosk might engage visitors from outside a building, or indoors from a free-standing, wall-mounted, or counter-top system. Whatever your vision, we will help you pair your stories with the best hardware to deliver a turnkey interactive solution.
